About me
I have been providing educational tours, workshops and consulting solutions in Northwest Indiana for two decades. I have a PhD focusing on food science, ecology and ethnobotany--the study of how particular people from a region use locally available plants. And I have conducted research on indigenous cultures and sustainability in the United States, Mexico, Ireland, Peru and India. But I have focused more than anywhere on the spectacular biodiversity of Northwest Indiana.
I provide a range of solutions to today's environmental challenges through classes, workshops and tours offered year round. And I work with people of all ages who are interested in biodiversity, ecology, local history, plant medicine, conservation and habitat restoration. I also provide evidence-based nature-therapy along with my environmental consulting.
Some of my partners and clients have included:
The Dunes Learning Center, Indiana Dunes State Park, Indiana Dunes National Park, Gabis Arboretum, Purdue University Northwest, Wolf Lake Initiative, Wild Ones Gibson Woods, Calumet College of St.Joseph. Urban Prairie Waldorf School, Heron Academy, Indiana Dunes Tourism, Porter County, Friends of Marquette Park, Just Transition NWI, Save the Dunes, Prairie State College, Westchester Museum, Cedar Lake Historical Society
